Qualifying for home-delivered catheters and accessories
If you or a loved one needs home-delivered catheters and accessories, Medicare or Private insurance may help pay for them.
MEDICARE
Medicare may pay for a portion of your home-delivered catheters and accessories. A written, signed and dated order from a physician must be provided to the supplier before the claim is submitted to Medicare. Home-delivered catheters and accessories are covered when all of the following criteria are met:
- The person must be eligible with an expressed written order from their doctor for home-delivered catheters and accessories.
- The person must meet all other applicable Medicare statutory and regulatory requirements.
PRIVATE INSURANCE
Most but not all private insurance companies follow Medicare guidelines for home-delivered catheters and accessories qualification requirements. If you have private insurance and you or a loved one has a need for home-delivered catheters and accessories, our partner company can talk to you about the specific requirements for your private insurance policy.
